Startup Saturday has been a monthly event at coFWD.

Its overall aim is to get more ideas shaped and projects/startups launched.

Our past four events have focused on discussion, learning and thinking; and that has proved really valuable for those participating. We’ve heard from and joined dots between the experiences of various types of people and projects; and new and active startups have already emerged from the connections made.

Our next event will be our fifth, and we’ll be trying something new. We’re shifting the focus from ‘thinking’ and ‘discussion’, to actively ‘doing’. We’ll still have people on hand to bounce ideas off, but the plan is to get people to do some of the things on their to-do lists and action plans, which they’ve already set goals and deadlines against. We’ll have internet, whiteboards, sofas, desks, coffee and plenty of space – perhaps the perfect environment to get this stuff done is coFWD.

As always, anyone is welcome to attend, it doesn’t matter if you’ve not been to a previous session. Whether you’ve got the basis of an idea you’d like to get off the ground, or a project that’s already launched, we look forward to seeing you.

If you’d like to be inspired by the differences between ‘thinking’ and ‘doing’ then you might like this blog post from Mark Suster. We’re not saying that doing is more important than thinking, we’re just aiming to keep a good balance between the two =)

The session will start at 1pm on Saturday 15th December but our coFWD venue will be open from 10am if you’d like to get stuck in early. We’ll probably finish at around 6pm.

The event is free but ticket donations are greatfully recieved to help pay for things like coffee and electricity. Please do signup via eventbrite. Thank you kindly.

Please note, our venue is a very old bank building that is being slowly shaped by a community of individuals for long-term Community Interest. Sadly the startup project is in its infancy and being run on limited funds so the building currently has some accessibility issues. If you have specific access or disability requirements and would like to participate in an event or activity please let us know at least 5 days before the event date so that we can do our utmost to resolve any potential problems to accommodate.
